What happens here exactly?

From here on out, I'll be linking to videos I've put on Youtube to explain. Click through with 'read more' to see them. People try to exit the mall, and they, well, they don't quite make it. Let's look at a prototype of the species. This here is a simple, Class I accident. Person goes to exit the mall driveway, gets focused on one direction over the other, and ends up not seeing the traffic coming around the corner at the cross street. Usually. Simple! Avoidable, but simple. We'll go over other types of accident later.

What's 'Totally Normal' about this, anyway?

Well, it's just a road. No, really, take a look at it. A busy road, which at its 'end' intersects with another busy road. Which has a moderately busy strip mall with a tobacco shop and a decent grocery store in it, in addition to the de rigeur  chain steakhouse on a pad in the parking lot. Normal, really. Except people like to wreck here a lot. Impatience, traffic and lack of thought all coalesce into a wonderful little trap of a 'bad intersection'. Maybe it's not so  bad in the grand scheme of things - nobody dies  here after all, though they did try pretty hard once - but it has its fair share of, well, not very bright accidents. We'll take a look at them as we find them!
